"Jack Elam was an American film and television actor whose career spanned more than 40 years.  He attended Santa Monica Junior College in California, then worked as an accountant and later, he briefly was manager of the Bel Air Hotel. They are not willing to trust the law and instead call on a Mexican gunman, Cesare Danova to settle the matter. "Originally groomed for the lead role in "Ben Hur" (1959), director William Wyler instead tapped Charleton Heston for the part, whose performance garnered the Oscar for Best Actor in a Leading Role.
