This LEXAN is also nice and clear, without any haziness and cloudiness that you might worry would be in a plastic lens.This crown measures 3.5mm wide and 6mm in diameter which is a nice fit to the proportions of the main case. The crown possesses an octagonal shape in its outer gripping surface for a unique look that also ties to the octagonal shape to the case back.The style of the bezel on both models is impressive. For these being built under the same “Basecamp” line, it is amazing the attitude difference between the Classic and Cali based on the dial and hands.These bezels also rotate bi-directionally in a very smooth motion, but without allowing them to rotate unintentionally. This nylon strap with aggressive ZULU hardware rings supports the bold look of the watch – again supporting the attitude the Classic model is going for.

This perlon style is definitely more refined than the ZULU strap which again supports the more reserved theme of the Cali. It is not anything major, but it is there.

The thickness is a tad on the high side in relation to the diameter, but this is a result of both the movement included as well as the style the Basecamp is going for with the domed glass. There are areas where it really shines, and areas where it could be better. Conveniently functional. And since NATOs seem to work on almost everything, you can use the same $20 strap on a $50 or $500 timepiece and still have those compliments streaming in.It forms a little pocket that reduces the distance through which the case can move, effectively keeping it in place no matter how much you move your hands.Even if one of the spring bars broke, the case would still be held in place by the remaining one.
