It produces 1.8-by-2.4-inch prints, with a classic Polaroid-style frame. Fuji's more advanced Mini LiPlay is still the most portable Instax around, but it costs more than twice as much. The Instax Mini LiPlay is a cute little camera. Affordable. The camera captures photos using a 5MP sensor, smaller than the one on your smartphone, and is good for still shots only. Shortcuts are used to quickly add decorative frames to images—you'll need to configure them using the companion app first, though. But if you're hip enough to attend parties in dimly lit venues, expect some hesitation in focus, and expect to use the flash.But there are rough edges, too. It takes pictures good enough for Instax prints, fits in your pocket, and is cheaper than a dedicated camera and printer. Pricing varies, but expect to pay around a dollar per print (it's also worth noting Fuji doesn't include a pack of film in the box). The SQ20 takes a very different approach, allowing you to add filters after you make a photo, and print as many different versions of it as you want. The wheel lets you navigate the menus to turn Bluetooth on and off, control various print settings, and toggle other settings.That said, my favorite feature of the LCD isn't the ability to review so much as the animation that happens when you print: It scrolls your image up off the screen at almost exactly the same speed the actual print emerges from the camera. Operation is almost entirely automatic, but the d-pad does give you the option to suppress the LED flash, shoot with a filtered look, add a frame to a shot before printing, and set a self-timer. The cameras are different, the film is a little different, but the experience remains timeless and still feels magical.In front is a shutter release along with a selfie mirror, AF lamp, and the button to record audio.The app is leaps and bounds better than Fujifilm's existing app for Instax printers, which has always felt clunky.

It's pretty easy to do, and you'll gain access to some other features by setting it up.The Fujifilm Instax Mini LiPlay isn't the company's first attempt at making an Instax camera with a digital sensor. It's a nice touch that makes that digital-to-real-world transition more immediate and fun. The filters are printed only on the films printable area and not on the borders.
